Clinical Effects of Sirdalud^(¢ç) in the Treatment of Acute Pain



Abstract
The authors have conducted a clinical study to evaluate the efficacy and tole ance of newly developed Sirdalud¢ç(PO) to the eighty cases of the patients with acute pal during four months from July 1989 to October 1989.
The treatment was initiated with o e tablet of Sirdalud¢ç(lmg) orally three times a day for the first three days, followed by two tablets three times a day for the next 4 days.
Results were as follows
1. In 80 cases of the patients, male were 44(55%), female were 36(45%) and the average age was 42 years old.
2. The diagnoses were as follow: 24 cases of back sprain (30%), 24
cases of herniated intervertebral disc (30%), 9 .ses of spondylosis (11.3%), 7 cases of fr ozen shoulder (8.8%), 6 cases of neck sprain (7.5%), 4 cases of spondylolisthesis (5%) , 4 cases of spinal stenosis (5%), 1 case of cervical disc (1.3¢¥ o) and 1 case of ankle sprain (1.3%).
3. Three and seven days after oral administration of Sirdalud¢ç there was mark-a improvement in pain at rest, pain on movement, pain at night and pain on palpation.
4. Overall efficacy and tolerance by the patients were 82.5% and 83.8% respectively and by the physicians were above slight effect in all cases.
5. Side effects were seen in 12 patients. There were 4 cases of GI trouble, 3 Oases of insomnia, 2 cases of nausea, 1 case of fatigability, 1 case
of facial flushing and 1 case of itching. But the degree of symptom was mild and recovered spontaneously.
6. It is concluded that the oral Sirdalud¢ç appears to be a safe and tolerable drug having good muscle relaxation and analgesic effect in acute
pain with few side reactions.
